Jovela
Comparison
Jovela vs Canva
Both make online invitations; they don’t make the same thing. Here is where Canva is the better fit, and where Jovela is.
In short
| Jovela | Canva | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Animated invitations opened as a link on the phone: a short film, a gesture that unveils your photo, the details, the map and a one-tap RSVP, in English, French and Spanish. | A general design tool with thousands of invitation templates, static or animated, that you export as an image, a PDF or a short video and send yourself. |
| How you pay | Free to design and preview; from $19 per invitation when published ($29 for a wedding), unlimited guests; made-to-order design $89. | Free with a large library; Canva Pro by subscription unlocks premium templates, elements and brand tools. |
Where Canva is stronger
- Total control: you design every element yourself
- Thousands of templates and the whole Canva library of fonts and graphics
- Exports you can print, post or send as a file
Where Jovela is stronger
- A live link rather than a file: the opening film, the reveal, the map, the countdown and the RSVP are one page, and you can change it after sending
- Replies: guests answer in one tap and you see who is coming, without a separate form
- Per-guest personal links and voice wishes, which a video or image can’t do
Choose Canva if
You enjoy designing and want a file to print or post, with no need for replies inside the invitation.
Choose Jovela if
You want guests to open something alive on their phone, with your photo revealed by a gesture, your music, and replies that arrive by themselves, for one price whatever the number of guests, and in English, French or Spanish.
Is Jovela cheaper than Canva?
It depends on your guest list. Jovela is $19 per invitation ($29 for a wedding) for any number of guests; Canva is free in some cases and paid in others, with costs that can depend on the number of recipients or on a subscription. For a large guest list, one fixed price is usually the simpler deal.
Can I move from Canva to Jovela?
Yes. Guest lists paste in from any text or spreadsheet, one name per line, and each guest gets a personal link.
Do guests need an account or an app?
No. A Jovela invitation opens in the phone’s browser from the link, and guests reply in one tap.
